Artist, Musician, Writer, Lyricist, Engineer, Producer, Videographer

Micah La was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a daily reminder to push hard for his musical dreams and goals. Music is Micah’s first love; his genres include Hip Hop/Rap, R&B and Jazz. Micah plays piano and keyboard as well as makes his own tracks, produces his own music and engineers studio sessions. He is also creating, producing and editing his own music videos. Micah’s natural love and talent for music became apparent at the age of six when he picked up a keyboard and began playing with no formal instruction.

Urged by his Bahamian mother, also a singer, Micah continued to grow and appreciate his innate talent developing his own style. Micah’s attention to life, his surroundings and everyday happenings have provided him with the inspiration for the hundreds of songs he has created, he speaks of what he has experienced, what he knows .

Micah’s influences have included Dr. Dre, Timberland, Isley Brothers, 2Pac, El DeBarge, Charlie Wilson, Eminem, Tyreese and Kenny G. Micah has become a powerful lyricist; his flow is crisp and articulate. Micah uses words as an instrument, one that paints a vivid picture. One artist commented “it’s like Micah read a dictionary, he has a perfect blend between proper and thuggish on his word play.

Where’d he come from? He’s got brains!” His Hip Hop style is lyrically edgy, definitely street. While rapping about conflict he cleverly creates conflict within the song, street life against classical piano and violin, grit and beauty, it’s like muscle confusion for your brain.

Micah often combines genres staying true to his style, shown in his R&B/Hip Hop remix “I Like It” with El DeBarge or R&B/Jazz on his piano rendition of the Isley Brothers “Between the Sheets”. Could he forget his Caribbean roots? Of course not, his Caribbean flavor can be heard in “Rude Boy”. Micah is currently working on his fourth CD, creating his music videos and collaborating with artists to set up showcasing events at various venues in Ohio, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Micah has created tracks for various artists including Dave Tolliver from Men at Large and Lazy Bone from Bone Thugs n Harmony.

He has also worked with artists Gerald Levert, Joe Little from Rude Boys and Cruz and produced music for plays and commercials. Micah has performed in Cleveland, New York, Tampa, Miami, St Louis and Chicago as well as several other smaller cities and venues.
